This diversity is one of the greatest strengths of the Portuguese university system: it enables institutions to address both local and global challenges, promote territorial cohesion, and strengthen national and international collaboration.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"795\" data-end=\"1211\">We live in a demanding era, marked by profound change and complex challenges that call upon universities to fulfil their responsibility as spaces for critical thinking, innovation, and public service.
